The establishment in 1996 of the Stauceni Parish began the implementation of social activities. A year later, in January 1997, the Cantina project was launched which daily provides hot lunches for children from socially vulnerable families in Stauceni. At first, the Cantina operated in the house of Fr. Klaus Kniffki, but in 1999 it was transferred to the Parish house next to church. Additionally, there is a purpose-built kitchen for the proper functioning of the Cantina.
In 2001, in other room of the parish house the Centre for Children of school age was opened. In 2003, the Medico-social Centre was opened that provides services both within the Centre, as well as at home. In the same year, a Caritas branch within the parish was set up, becoming part of Caritas Moldova.
In 2006, thanks to financial support of the Cardinal of Vienna, H. E. Christof Schonborn, the construction of the Shelter for homeless persons ”St. Stephen” began. On December 6, 2007, this shelter officially started to work. The main directions of activity are: social assistance, medical assistance and extreme cases.
