80 people will give more input on community’s’ life due to renovated Social Center of Caritas from Slobozia Rashkov, Kamenka district, Transnistrian region.
All activities from the Social Center of Caritas are oriented to help solitary elderly people, disabled people, and people with low income, organizing activities for children and youth from vulnerable families.
In this way, will work the soup kitchen, where volunteers will distribute hot meals for lonely elderly and disabled people. As well, in the Social Center of Caritas will work the social laundry, where the volunteers will help vulnerable families to wash their clothes. Here will be organized extracurricular activities for children and adolescents, focusing on health education, children’s rights, and particularly on the prevention of child abuse.
Until renovation, the actual capacity of Slobozia Rashkov Social Center of Caritas was limited and did not allow the simultaneous pursuit of several activities. Therefore, in 2014, Caritas Moldova, in partnership with Caritas Luxembourg, has proposed to renovate the building and to create new spaces for the implementation of social projects.
On December 2, 2015 was organized the opening ceremony of the renovated building, an event attended by representatives of Caritas Luxembourg – mr Godehard Engels, representatives of local public administration and people from Sloboda Rashkov.
Due to the renovation of the parish house, more than 80 people, who are actively involved in the social life of the community, will benefit from modern conditions for carrying out the projects initiated by the Parish Caritas.
In the building were replaced interior doors and windows, was built a new heating, water supply and sanitation system, it was arranged and performed lavatory renewal exterior works and landscaping of the courtyard. In addition, all rooms have been equipped with new furniture and equipment.
