From 6 to 8 of May, the President of Caritas Moldova Charitable Foundation, Fr. Petru Ciobanu, and its Executive Director, Edward Lucaci, are participating in the 2024 Regional Conference and Directors' Forum of Caritas Europa in Brussels.
On the agenda were included topics on Catholic Humanitarian Action in War and Climate Emergency, Caritas Europa Strategic Framework 2021-2028, presentation and approval of reports for last year, as well as the organization of the next Caritas Europa Regional Conference in Chisinau on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Caritas Moldova.
At the opening of the Conference, the President of Caritas Europa, Msgr. Michael Landau, welcomed all participants and offered a prayer. The Secretary General of Caritas Internationalis, Alistair Dutton, also gave a welcome address and the Senior Research Fellow of the Las Casas Institute for Social Justice at the University of Oxford, Dr Hugo Slim, gave a speech on "Catholic Humanitarian Action in the Politics of War and Climate Emergency".
The delegations of all 49 Caritas Europa member organisations from 46 countries will discuss the mid-term review of the strategic framework at the Directors' Forum, as well as the timing and theme of the next Regional Conference in Chisinau, when Caritas Moldova will celebrate 3 decades of activity.
