On October 17, every year, we mark the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

It is already 29 years since the adoption of this decision by the United Nations General Assembly in 1992, which warns the world about the existence of poverty as a global and pressing issue. At the same time, it is 34 years since the Call to Action of Father Joseph Wresinski, who initiated the observance of October 17 as the World Day for Overcoming Poverty.

In recent decades, the Republic of Moldova is on the list of poor countries, where the problem of poverty eradication persists and is very current. Among the world charities that provide real help to the needy and the poor, the organization "Caritas" is well known. The "Caritas Moldova" Charitable Foundation operates in Moldova.
