In 2002, the Social and Pastoral Center was opened at House of Providence. This chapel was the core of the future parish of St. Alois Scrosoppi. The parish was established by the decree of the Bishop of Chisinau on September 1, 2007.

After the believers from Cupcini asked to open a Catholic church in 2006, the request was submitted and approved by the City Hall. And on December 24, 2007 the church served the first Holy Mass.
Although it was founded only in 2007, the parish "St. Francis of Assisi" began its activity in 1991 with the appearance of the Order of Junior Monks of the Monastery in Moldova.

After long trials, in 2006, the Greek Catholic parish dedicated to the "Shroud of the Mother of God" was registered by the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
