On 01 October 2015 starting at 18.00, on the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, celebrating 20 years ” – solidarity and assistance to people in need of “Caritas Moldova, in the Palace of Feroviarilor in Chisinau will be held a concert charity, with the participation of folk dances ensemble “Veselia”.
At this event are expected about 500 elderly, and vulnerable people from mun. Chişinău, beneficiaries of various charitable projects and staff, volunteers, partners, Caritas Moldova benefactors from the country and abroad.
Older people are the nation’s value and deserve proper attitude from everyone, especially those who directly depend on the country’s development. Caritas Moldova urges institutions associations, businesses, state institutions and people of good will, together, truly and practically, to honor parents and our grandparents so that old age is no longer “heavy clothes” and wisdom of life to be respected and recognized by all.
To bring the Good Gods thanks for the 20 years of activity Charity Foundation Charity “Caritas Moldova”, on 1st October 2015 at 11.00, at the Roman Catholic Cathedral “Divine Providence” (str. Metropolitan Dosoftei 85) will be celebrated Divine Liturgy HE Anton Cosa, Roman Catholic Bishop of Chisinau, with invitees all priests, religious, collaborators, partners, our benefactors and beneficiaries.
On October 2, together with Secretary General of the Federation Caritas Europe, Mr. Jorge Nuño Mayer, will be visited the patients of home care program, within the Social-Medical center in Stăuceni, during 10.00 and 12.30. The program will end with a lunch taken with beneficiaries at the night shelter center for homeless people “House St. Stefan” (str. Livezilor 46B, Stăuceni).
International Day of Older Persons is marked annually since 1991. In Moldova over 500 thousand of elderly are in poverty, and a large number of them are lonely.
In fulfilling the Roman Catholic charity “Caritas Moldova” is 20 years working for the poor, for the establishment of equitable social systems, promoting values of Divine mercy and Christian benevolence. The main categories of beneficiaries of Caritas Moldova are older people with minimal sources of existence, the homeless, people with special needs, the incurably ill or infirmed, children and young people, single-parent families and other vulnerable in extreme poverty.
Annually over 5 000 people are receiving social assistance programs throughout the country by Caritas Moldova. Older people receive medical and social care services at home, medications, detergents and food through its seven regional medical centers.
