Caritas Moldova provides cash assistance to vulnerable refugees
Caritas Moldova Charitable Foundation provides cash assistance to vulnerable refugees. At the moment 10139 people have been enrolled. Cash payments are made available to vulnerable refugees in Ukraine. Payments are managed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNCHR) through Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and its partners Caritas Moldova and Diaconia, under the overall coordination of UNHCR and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
Caritas Moldova provides considerable support in strengthening the capacity of opening local and regional cash assistance centers in Chisinau, Donduseni, Balti. Caritas Moldova will soon facilitate the opening of centers in Orhei and Ungheni.
The registration center in Chisinau is already operational, and the new center will open in the week beginning March 28. The registration centers in Causeni and Donduseni will open at the end of March / beginning of April, followed by Cahul, Ungheni and Orhei. Mobile registration teams will be deployed in districts and municipalities that are more than an hour's drive from the registration centers.
Each eligible refugee is entitled to 2,200 MDL / month. Eligible are people who fled Ukraine and entered Moldova after February 2022 can be considered for the grant. They can be Ukrainian citizens or citizens of other countries living in Ukraine.

Where will the registration take place?
All family members must go to the appointment together with all available ID. Identity details, fingerprints and photos will be taken from all family members and will be issued with a bank card and Proof of Registration. This is not a legal document and has nothing to do with refugee status.
At present, appointments are only made through referrals from UNHCR partners. To make an appointment, please fill out the pre-registration form. You will be contacted within 15 days.

Person with legal and physical protection needs
Woman at risk
Person with a serious medical condition
Pregnant woman
Person with a disability
Household with one or more persons with specific needs, including:
Household headed by an older person (above 60)
Household with an unaccompanied or separated child
