The Charity Foundation provides social assistance and food to those in great need. Rising prices have been a huge concern for society as a whole, but have had an immediate negative impact on those in need. Poor children, sick and lonely old people, marginalized families need you. And they need it now!

Every month, over 100 people turn to Caritas Moldova for help, either directly at the Foundation's headquarters or on the media communication channels (Facebook, Caritas Moldova website, etc.). The cases are analyzed and resolved by the social worker who provides emotional support and, if possible, a food package. Beneficiaries are part of: large needy families with many children, abused / discriminated people, people with disabilities, seniors. At the moment of addressing, these people are going through a crisis that is difficult to overcome without our support, of those who care! In addition, with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, another pandemic developed, that of poverty and helplessness.
In early February, the Charity Foundation team was contacted about a case of a family in the village of Peresecina that was left with limited food resources to survive.

The one who took care to contact us is the neighbor of the poor woman, telling us that the family, who lived in one room, had only one packet of rice left in the house and asked for the help of the kind people to be able to support their 3 children.

Our team notified us and went to the family in question with several food items. Once there, our volunteers found the 3 children in precarious conditions, in a house far from being able to accommodate 5 souls. The children were huddled on a bed next to a small stove, with clear signs of malnutrition.

My mother confessed to us that in the context of rising food prices, she could barely bring a loaf of bread to the table.
