On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, the Caritas Moldova team participated in an Advocacy workshop on children's rights offered by the German charity organization "Kindernothilfe".
During the workshop, Dr. Judith Striek spoke about the principles stipulated in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, inherent to the application of Advocacy in this field, as well as the tools for their implementation.
Frank Misho, Advocacy Manager at Kindernothilfe, spoke about the need to establish sustainable links between civil society representatives in the field of children's rights and relevant government institutions, and explained the differences between lobbying and advocacy. And Elias Dehnen highlighted the role of non-governmental organisations in promoting children's rights.
At the end, the workshop participants divided into two groups: one - to list child rights NGOs and the benefits of establishing an information exchange network, and the second - to identify advocacy methods that can be implemented in Moldova.
On this occasion, we would like to thank our colleagues from "Kindernothilfe" for organizing this workshop, which combined the useful with the pleasant and which we hope will improve the skills and competences of the "Caritas Moldova" team in the field of child rights advocacy.
