In the context of World Hypertension Day, Caritas Moldova Charitable Foundation joins the efforts to fight this disease, which affects over one billion people worldwide. We are particularly grateful to our partners Caritas Austria and the National Health Insurance Company with whom we have implemented the SAFE Project, dedicated to improving the quality of life of elderly people in the Republic of Moldova, at risk of poverty and suffering from health problems. Through this project, more than 200 seniors have benefited from comprehensive medical assistance, including blood pressure measurement, in four localities: Chisinau, Stârcea, Rașcov and Râbnița.

Services included health monitoring, personal hygiene, psycho-emotional support and leisure time organisation. The medical-social day centres were visited 4,727 times last year and offered various activities and specialised consultations.
