It has been 27 years since that distant May 10, 1995, when, through the will and efforts of His Holiness Anton Coșa, the foundations of the “Caritas Moldova” Charitable Foundation were laid, whose purpose was, is and will be to show through deed, as the Holy Scriptures urge, that "Deus caritas est - God is love" (Jn 4:17). Since then, within our local Church, Caritas Moldova has always strived to be what the Holy Father Pope Francis called, addressing members of Caritas Internationalis, "the loving hand of the Church", becoming, in the Diocese of Chisinau, the loving hand of the pastor. to the youngest brothers of Jesus, hungry, thirsty, naked, captive with body or soul, sick, old, lonely, out of school, orphans, widows, those on the fringes of society and whom, the consumer society and many or, selfishly, ignores or kicks them as an object of worthlessness and importance.
But the "loving hand of the Church" is directed precisely to them, because, in the eyes of God's Love, every man is precious, every man has value and dignity, because every man is the fruit of the love of the Most Holy Trinity. And the question, "Where can we find God," has its most concrete answer on the faces of these people? It is not in vain that St. Vincent de Paul, a great saint of mercy, said that if he were to choose between prayer and going to do a deed of charity, he would not hesitate to choose the second, because, he said. : "I do not abandon God for God's sake."
This is the belief that has guided the activity of Caritas Moldova for 27 years and, as St. Paul urges us: "Whoever praises himself, let him praise himself in the Lord!" (2 Cor 10:17), we also “boast” in the Lord of all our actions, which, thanks to God, we have managed to accomplish over the years, but especially in the last period, characterized by many challenges and difficulties.
It is also worth remembering, after these 27 years, all the Love, Attention and Care that the Caritas Moldova team, together with our volunteers and partners, offered to the most vulnerable of the most vulnerable in the Republic of Moldova. We also fondly remember those we have served all these years and who have the energy and desire to move forward with the noble mission we have undertaken.
It is worth noting that there have been many challenges throughout this period that we have managed to turn into successful programs and projects thanks to our partners.
The Caritas Moldova team aims to continue to provide quality integrated services to the poorest of us and we hope to become better and better with them and for them, in the spirit of charity, solidarity and love of neighbor!
In the end, grateful to God for this age, even if it is tender, we bring him our praise because he has always opened the hearts of so many benefactors without whom we could not extend this loving hand. We also thank His Holiness Anton Coșa not only for being the father of Caritas Moldova, but also for his advice as a pastor and for the support and interest he shows towards this daughter of his.
